Estimated First quarter 2027
Planned scope, not currently available. The estimate may change as the feature is tested.
Planned: make the file findable when you cannot hand it over yourself.
Emergency access will let an owner nominate a verified contact without giving them day-to-day access. Activation needs careful identity checks, notice to the owner and a human-supported process, so it will not be approximated with a permanent secret link.
How it works, step by step
Nominate and verify
Add a contact who verifies their identity and relationship but receives no file access at setup.
Request supported activation
A documented process will gather evidence, notify the owner through every available channel and apply a waiting period.
Open a limited snapshot
Approved access will be time-limited, read-only and recorded, with billing and account security excluded.
Straight answers.
Is emergency access available now?
No. Today you can create a normal revocable read-only link for someone you trust.
Will access activate automatically?
No. The planned process is deliberately supported and evidence-based.
Why is the estimate later?
Identity, privacy and false-activation safeguards need to be designed and tested before this can be responsibly shipped.
